Deleting Your Account
You can delete your Colibri data yourself, at any time, without asking anyone.
Open Settings > Delete account, type your handle to confirm, and that’s it.
If you have uninstalled the app, you can open colibri.social/app/delete-account in your browser to delete your account instead.
What gets deleted
Section titled “What gets deleted”Everything Colibri holds about you:
- Your Colibri profile, display name, avatar, banner, and status
- Every message and reaction you have sent
- Your community memberships and any invitations you created
- Your notifications, read state, and presence
- Your push notification subscriptions
Messages you sent disappear from other people’s clients as soon as the deletion reaches them. Cached copies of images may survive briefly in memory on our servers. Bans and kicks recorded against you are kept.
If you are the only owner of a community, we will ask you to hand it over to someone else or delete it first. Otherwise the community would be left with nobody able to administer it.
What does not get deleted
Section titled “What does not get deleted”Your atproto account. Colibri does not create or manage it and cannot delete it. If you want to delete it, you have to do that via the host for your account:
- Bluesky (
bsky.social): delete your account under Settings → Account in the Bluesky app. - Any other provider: some serve an account page at
/accounton their own domain. Our data deletion checks for one and links you straight to it if it exists. If it does not, contact whoever runs the server. We’ll show it to you when you’re deleting your Colibri data.
If something goes wrong
Section titled “If something goes wrong”If the flow reports that some records could not be deleted, signing in again and retrying usually clears them. If you are still stuck, or you cannot sign in at all, mail pds@colibri.social and we will delete the account for you.
